Haystacks Beginner Crochet Shawl

Haystacks shawl made with Scarfie Lion Brand yarn

While at Michaels craft store, I found this big, fluffy ball of fun. It is a bulky weight, the skein is very poufy and soft.

Lion Brand Scarfie Mustard Yellow

The color changes within the yarn made want to create a shawl from side-to-side, in order to make the color shift vertically. I wanted it to be fairly solid, for warmth, but it had to be a bit open for drape and the real desire was to only use 1 skein, because who doesn’t love a great 1 skein project!?
Planning a pattern while standing in the aisle, sometimes means it doesn’t work out exactly as hoped.

Reaching this point in the shawl made it clear that it would be a 2 skein piece, which wasn’t the goal, BUT it meant I would have plenty of yarn for great tassels!!
