Hiya! Welcome back to the Edgemerc Blanket Project and to the release of Square 6! If this is your first time to the site and you’re not quite sure what I’m talking about, let me explain– We are in progress of a year-long Crochet-A-Long. We are making a total of 48 squares, 4 each of 12 different designs, and in December, we will join them together to make a slightly oversized throw; 60″ x 80″ [152.5 x 203 cm]. Or if you want to join as you go, you are welcome to do that. For a calendar of the release schedule and links to other active squares, click HERE. Keep reading for the FREE pattern and all the details of Square 6.

Blanket sizing
Do you have to make the blanket the full 60″ x 80″ [152.5 x 203 cm] ? Not at all! Use the graphic below to guide you on the number of squares you’ll need to reach the size blanket you want to create. Feel free to add it to your pinterest board of helpful yarny information. 😄

I have 2 groups that I’d like for you to join ☻
First, there is a private group for those of us making the Edgemerc. This is the official place where you’ll need to ask any questions you may have about the squares. It’s also going to be a place to share progress pictures, get opinions on color options & placement and ooooh and ahhhh over everyone’s project!
Next up is an invite to join the Revel group ! It’s the best way to reach me regarding any of my patterns. It’s also a place to share project pictures, ask questions, share your favorite yarn memes, and chit-chat with the rest of us.
Each square for the blanket is written for 1 size, 10″ [25.5 cm]. You will need to make 4 of each square pattern. At the end of the CAL, you will have a total of 48 squares.

behind the scenes for edgemerc
Do you want to see a few extra pictures (they probably include my furry critters 🐾). Maybe I’ll tell you about the audio book I was listening to or share the playlist that was blaring… maybe all.
“When our mills spin our yarns, a small amount is left over from each batch. Instead of wasting it, we work with our mills to create new limited-edition yarns, and this year’s Upcycle Alpaca Worsted, a worsted weight blend of alpaca, wool, and acrylic, lends itself to sweaters, cowls, hats, and much more. It’s soft enough for next to skin wear, but rugged enough to keep you warm all winter long.
Upcycle is made with recycled fibers that vary in size, causing slight variations in yarn thickness from skein to skein. We recommend swatching before starting a project.”
