But make it handmade.

If you’re like me, you have a lot of people that touch your life. Not someone you see every day and you don’t know them intimately, but they pop in every now and again and you treasure them. You’re planning to give a gift this holiday season to show that their help and interactions in your life make a difference.

Teacher, Dog walker, Babysitter, Delivery person, Nail technician

Just something small to show they matter… the Coffee Shop gift card.
It’s perfect. Truly.
A treat that absolutely everyone enjoys. Even if they aren’t a coffee drinker, most shops offer teas or hot cocoa. Perfect gift.
But you want it to be a little more personal?

Add a super cute, handmade, cup cozy to your gift! It’s a quick and easy stitch and is a great companion to your already wonderful present. Want to add even more fun?

I’ve included a printable gifting card for the cozy!

It’s an easy way to quickly get answers to any questions you may have about a pattern. It’s also a fun place to share project pictures, get opinions on color options and what-not, and chit chat about yarn with the rest of us.

About the yarn

Honestly, creating this project is about speed. I recommend using worsted weight from your stash.

I happened to have some Lion Brand Wool Ease on my shelf that needed a good home.

Wool Ease is a fantastic, all-purpose yarn. It is a quality blend that allows for softness and fluff of wool with a price that is reasonable.
So many color options, too!

80% acrylic 20% wool
Machine wash & dry.

Another bonus of Wool-Ease is that it is available at the big box stores. You can also buy it in economy packs at Joann and occasionally Bonus sized skeins at the LionBrand site.

Custom sizing changes are for length only, as the width of the pattern fits all (standard) cup sizes.

The skills you need

The cozy uses 2 colors, so you will need to know how to switch from one yarn to another.
But don’t worry, there’s a picture tutorial below.

The stitch pattern also uses a fun puff stitch, directions below {see Special Stitches}.
